ABOUT: WILDLIFE RESCUE OF EAST HAMPTON, Inc.
Wildlife Rescue of East Hampton is Dell Cullum, a wildlife rescue expert with a vast knowledge of all species, who has been working in the wildlife field for over 30 years in 6 states. In 2013, Cullum started Hampton Wildlife Removal, at the time the ONLY 100% NO KILL trapping outfit on the entire island, possibly even the state. Even when the NYSDEC demanded trapped raccoons be destroyed on the property they were trapped on, Cullum refused EVERY TIME and was NEVER cited or even warned of his noncompliance; however, he did win the hearts and business of those who had nuisance wildlife issues, but love animals. Dell is known for his unique, compassionate and expert investigative approach to each wildlife case.
Dell Cullum, thought it would be beneficial to the wildlife, as well as the community, to organize a rescue operation specifically in East Hampton Township (Wainscott to Montauk). The closest rescue operation was Hampton Bays at the time and that was much too far away to respond consistently to the growing number of calls that were coming in each year. After one reported injured deer was not attended to for 4 days, Dell responded and rescued the near dead animal. Dell then decided to form WROEH so that animals would not be left unattended in the community I lived and worked in.
After the first year, an old broken back injury reared its ugly symptoms and limited the physical rescue abilities of Dell, who was previously on-call 24/7 year round. Rather than call it quits, and because the community support has been overwhelming, WROEH made a few changes to the organization and their mission. Rather than "RESCUES" being the key function of the organization and "Education" being secondary, Dell decided to reverse those actions and make "Education" the primary function. Whether it's speaking at a conference or event, or visiting students at their schools with his wildlife ambassadors ( Dell is licensed both federal & state to handle, possess and exhibit wildlife ), he'll discuss topics from individual species to the impacts humans have on wildlife to wildlife compassion and understanding. WROEH will be available for bookings in ANY state.
Dell will be available for nuisance wildlife advice and creating a nuisance free home, while still being able to enjoy the wildlife around us. Dell has been in the removal business for over 30 years. He's successfully led both the Town & Village of East Hampton in wildlife remediation issues and has a vast knowledge of solutions and tactics to humanely deal with wildlife control.
Whether it's identifying a critter, asking a wildlife question, inquiring about advice on a nuisance wildlife issue or even a recommendation to the top person in a particular wildlife related field. Calling Dell at 631-377-6555 is the place to start.
